Applications
STARFLEX CO can be added directly to the bitumen by special plants which effects a high velocity mixing, guaranteeing a complete and perfect dispersion of the two phases. The produced bitumen-polymer mixture is called “PMB”. STARFLEX CO can be added also directly in the mixer of the asphalt plant, in this case will be manufactured a mix of bitumen, polymers and aggregates called “PMA”.
Advantages
STARFLEX CO gives:
-
To the bitumen an improved softening point (R&B) and a higher thermoplastic interval;
-
To the asphalt a higher stability, resistance to deformation and temperature.
Modality of Use
STARFLEX CO dosage varies in accordance to the modification required, normally the dosage is made from 3% to 6% of the bitumen weight to manufacture modified bitumen (PMB). The added quantity of STARFLEX CO in the production of depends also by the requirements for the asphalt. Normally the dosage varies in this case from 4% to 10% of the bitumen weight.
Package
The product can be delivered in 500 or 1.000 kg big-bags. On request it is also possible to deliver it in 25 kg plastic bags.
Storage
STARFLEX CO can be stored for 36 months in original pack but closed. It must be stored in dry conditions.
Warning
STARFLEX CO doesn't present specific risks. For more information on classification, measures of protection and provisions in case of fire, please see the Safety Data Sheet available upon request.
