TRANSPARENT BINDERS

They are binders of vegetable origin that replace the bitumen on the roads and pavements construction. They offer a great freedom of choices : can be chosen a complementary transparent binder , that perfectly highlights the natural tones of aggregates , or , in alternative, opting for coloured pavements , obtained by adding the appropriate coloured pigments. The binders are available both bi-compound products , made of a granulated resin and a liquid polymer , for hot paving ; and as an emulsion , for cold superficial treatments.

Modality of use for hot treatments
Every single compound should be added into the asphalt blend system . We advice drying first the aggregates using a temperature between 150°C and 160°C; than adding into the mixer , in order , the resin and after it the liquid polymer. The required time for mixing should ensure a complete aggregates covering by the binder. For the coloured conglomerate production , the pigment should be added after every single compound ; the binder dosage is between 0.5-1.5% from the aggregates weight.

Dosage The dosage of the transparent binders is similar to the bituminous dosage ; 5-6% from the aggregates weight for the hot conglomerates production ; 1-2 kg / sm for cold superficial treatments.

Packing
For the bi-compound product , the resin is supplied in 25 kg bags and the liquid polymer , in 200 litre drums or 1,000 litre tanks. The colourless emulsion is delivered in 200 litre drums or in bulk from tanker.
